The next step is completing an application. It isn't a test or a commitment. It's simply the start of a conversation that helps me learn about you, your family, and the kind of companion you're hoping to welcome into your life.
When it's time for one of my adults to retire, I carefully match each dog with the home that best fits their personality, your lifestyle, and everyone's readiness for this exciting new chapter. My greatest wish is for every retired dog to enjoy a lifetime of love as someone's cherished companion.

When one of my adults is ready to retire, I always schedule a phone conversation before moving forward. If you aren't able to visit in person, I'm happy to arrange a video chat so you can meet your potential new companion before any payment is accepted.
Finding the right home is just as important to me as finding the right dog for your family. My greatest hope is for each retired adult to make a smooth transition into a home where they feel safe, loved, and cherished. Retirement isn't the end of their story... it's the beginning of a wonderful new chapter filled with adventures, companionship, and a family of their very own.
Your trust means everything to me, and I want you to feel confident and excited knowing your new companion still has so much love to give and so much life left to enjoy.

Breeder Placement & Communication Policies
Right of Refusal
The well-being of every Carsten’s Chihuahua puppy is my highest priority.  Previous purchases, deposits, applications, or past interactions do not guarantee approval for a future puppy. Each placement decision is made individually with the puppy’s long-term welfare in mind. I reserve the right to refuse or cancel a puppy placement at any time if I believe the home may not be the best fit for the puppy.
Respectful Communication
Carsten’s Chihuahuas values respectful and professional communication with all prospective and current puppy families. Questions are always welcome, and I am happy to provide guidance for the puppies I place. However, abusive language, harassment, threats, repeated unwanted contact, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. If this occurs, I reserve the right to immediately end communication and decline or cancel any current or future puppy placement.
Accuracy & Representation
To protect the integrity of my breeding program, I do not permit the misrepresentation of advice, policies, or care instructions that were not provided directly by me. Statements that do not accurately represent my guidance or breeding practices may result in the refusal of future puppy placements and the termination of breeder support. Clear and truthful communication helps ensure the best outcomes for the puppies and the families who love them.

When clicking ‘SUBMIT’ to be qualified for one of our retired adults, you are agreeing to the terms of our non-refundable deposit.  ​

Once you have been approved and your deposit has been received, your puppy is reserved exclusively for your family.

• At that point, the puppy is no longer available to other approved families, which is why all deposits are non-refundable.  Before placing a deposit, please be sure you are ready to welcome a puppy into your home and have discussed the decision with everyone involved. My goal is for every puppy to be placed in a loving, committed forever home. 
• The only circumstance in which a deposit will be refunded is if your reserved puppy becomes seriously ill, is injured, or passes away while in my care.  
• Deposits must be received through an approved electronic payment method within two (2) business days of approval. By accepting the Health Guarantee via email and submitting your deposit, you acknowledge that you have been approved, have reviewed the Health Guarantee, and understand our mutual expectations.
• The remaining balance is due within five (5) days of your puppy's scheduled delivery date. If you are picking your puppy up in person, the final payment is due at the time of pickup.
