Our clients love their dogs and have made them a part of their family from the moment they arrived in their home.  They are proud to share pictures of the joy in their life.  Please realize that I have over 20 years worth of pictures, so this is just a small part of our collection and we plan to change the pictures every few months. We hope you enjoy them with us.   ​

Carsten's Chihuahua's & Mary Carsten are A+. I've had chihuahuas for many years and experienced a variety of breeders. None compare to Mary. Mary is excellent to work with - from the initial inquiry to coordinating delivery and then checking in periodically after my puppy, LuLu, was getting settled. Mary provided all the expected paperwork and also a packet of information that included background on LuLu, a cd with pictures, and she also sent a a sweet puppy care package. My little LuLu is perfect. She's healthy, she's well adjusted, and its clear was well taken care of and loved before I got her. Mary was spot-on in her description of LuLu's disposition and temperament - I definitely got a sweet, calm, good-natured puppy. Thank you, Mary! You've laid a great foundation for LuLu in her forever home with me!

We bought our third chihuahua from Mary about a year ago and we could not say enough positive things about our experience. You can tell right away the puppies are raised with a lot of love and care before they go off to their forever home. She sent a lot of pictures and videos of those first weeks before we received her and she even knew her name before we received her. As soon as we had a name picked out for her Mary started calling her by it so she would know it.  The puppies are well socialized as well which is really nice. Mary really gives all of the puppies the best perfect start and sends a ton of information to get you started so you can make sure you raise a happy and healthy dog. I especially like the Facebook page so we can see pictures and posts of other pups related to ours, especially her brothers. I really think Mary breeds the cutest and sweetest chihuahuas and we feel incredibly lucky to have one.

I would highly recommend Mary Carsten’s chihuahuas.  I got my little girl from her and she is wonderful! She is beautiful and very smart. I love that Mary's puppies are raised in her home, not a kennel.  I think it makes all the difference!! My vet even said she is a happy healthy puppy.  Birdie is the best part of each day; very loving and even though she is sometimes stubborn, I still love her temperament.  I like that she is very protective of me.  She loves to play and makes my family complete.

I got Sassi from Mary 13 1/2 years ago ! I couldn’t ask for a more living mild manner dog then Sassi ! The whole process of getting Sassi was a joy! When I started shopping for a dog for my son, I hadn’t even thought about a Chihuahua, but now I’m so glad I did. I made several calls and did many hours of research trying to find just the right puppy. I found a puppy from a wonderful breeder, and sealed the deal. Then, I received a call back from Mary Carsten. She began talking about her puppies and asked if she could send me a video. One look was all it took. I was seeing just about the most adorable little puppy ever. I couldn’t say no, and we ended up buying both puppies; one from another breeder and one from Mary. I could not ask for a better experience. The puppy arrived safe and sound to the airport, and in addition, a few days later, my son received a care package from Mary with a letter to my son as if written by our puppy. Even after the sale, and all has been said and done, Mary runs a Facebook group and we were able to see the family line of our little pup, plus meet other satisfied buyers. We were lucky enough to get one of Mary Carsten’s little girl pups, Stella. I can’t emphasize enough how important the great start in life that Mary gives them is. This is our dog Creels Lil Aubie One. We got him from Mary in 2010. He is the best dog ever. He loves being with the family, traveling, walking and even playing with the cats. He is very smart and loves to do tricks especially when he gets a treat for them. Thanks Mary

When we got our Chihuahua from Mary I didn't realize all I was getting! Not only did the puppy arrive wonderfully to Texas but we got a whole care package of information from Mary. We received a wonderful letter telling us about our pup and all the things he had been up to and how to care for him. We also joined a puppy play group on FB to keep up with all his siblings. We will definitely be adopting from Mary again!

When we first saw a picture of Annie on Mary's website we was in love. She was even more adorable in person! She's truly an all around great Chihuahua. Non aggressive and doesn't have the 'bad' personality traits that a lot of other Chihuahua's have. She came socialized. Use to cats and dogs. Loud noises from normal daily house hold. Lots of hugs and kisses too. Mary even starts 'housebreaking' the puppies. They go outside and learn from the adults what to do. So it was a whole lot easier to house break lol. Annie came with all her shots up to date and Mary stays in contact with you even after you buy a puppy/puppies from her. Mary truly is a good hearted breeder/friend. Buy her puppies with confidence and you won't be disappointed. We will be buying another puppy from Mary in the future!

I am sitting here looking at my beautiful, well behaved girls... I'm SO glad I found you. You are exactly how every dog breeder should be- involved, loving, easy to talk to and fun! I wish people could SEE just how superior the temperament/personality in your chihuahuas are compared to the "Chihuahua stereotype!"Chloe looks like Gavin completely. She's talkative (yes, when she doesn't like something she moan/talks about it) and she looooooves to be held and cuddled.Daisy May looks like Dot but her markings are exactly like Gavin's. She is a bit more feisty and takes the dominant role, for sure! She's the kisser. Always wants to be somewhere kissing someone. And she's also the one who listens to commands. She can predict what's going on by observing our routines at home.. I am amazed at what good little dogs I have- I've not come across many who are this calm and personable.Thank you. Keep doing what you are doing. You are blessing families with amazing companions!
